Credit Risk Officer (m/w/x)
2-month contract up to 1 year

Provide credit opinions on proposed new operations and changes of existing operations with Public Sector and Financial Institutions, in accordance with the Credit Risk Guidelines and propose and contribute to the ongoing development of internal rating methodologies and departmental procedures to maintain the credit quality of a highly diversified portfolio of transactions.

• Assess credit risk, formulate opinions on credit proposals, review and validate counterpart ratings, loss given default, climate scorecards and credit limits, and calculate risk pricing
• Propose security/collateral requirements and risk mitigating clauses
• Review legal documentation from a credit risk standpoint
• Work with other operational departments in structuring and mitigating credit risk
• Closely follow and report on counterparts/transactions requiring special attention
• Check the quality and correctness of credit risk related data input into various IT systems
• Deal with credit risk related enquiries from within the Bank and provide solutions
• Contribute to the development and improvement of procedures, support and control systems, IT systems, methodologies and working tools
• Provide advice and recommendations on complex credit risk issues and related policies for credit risk management, aligning the EIB with best banking practices
• Participate in horizontal tasks concerning e.g. rating modelling, industry standards, initiatives and working groups at bank level etc. organizing work or providing needed written contributions
• Ensure good relationships with internal clients and appropriate internal co-operation and communication
• Maintain awareness of the latest developments and share learning and innovation on risk management methodologies within GR&C-RM and in the Bank

• University degree, preferably in finance, business administration or law. Post-graduate education would be an advantage.
• 5 years’ relevant professional experience in credit risk assessment and Knowledge of Italian counterparts would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in analyzing the credit risk of financial institutions. Knowledge of credit risk assessment of public sector counterparts would be an advantage.
• Experience with credit risk assessment methodologies and rating agency criteria. Proficiency in reviewing complex legal structures.
• Excellent English. Knowledge of Italian.
