Manpower Permanent Placement is recruiting on behalf of a company in the retail/services sector, an Accounting Manager Cash /Trades Receivables (M/F/X).

Status – CDI to start now.
Location: Near to the Belgium border

You will report to the Accounting Manager Projects & Integrations and will service our client’s operations business in your market(s) with accounting and other administrative services. You will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. These accounting activities include mainly cash & receivable related activities, but also some more general duties such as general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
You will have contact with local management (Market Managers, District Managers, Human Resources etc.) and third parties involved in the cash & receivable process of the company. You supervise (junior/senior) Accountants and are responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
 

Your tasks:

  • Manage all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Manage partnerships with external service providers (Payment Service Providers, ERP Software Providers).
  • Ensure the Order-to-Cash process for ancillary income.
  • Ensure delivery of management reporting and preparation of annual statutory accounts and budgets.
  • Meet SLAs with internal stakeholders and document significant transactions.
  • Ensure tax compliance and banking/treasury activities in collaboration with the Tax department.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, internal and external audit processes.
  • Collaborate closely with support departments including IS, Marketing, Legal, and Human Resources.

Process and Systems:

  • Implement and maintain procedures and systems to ensure proper accounting controls for all business cycles.
  • Support the testing and rollout of new applications and processes.
  • Contribute to European projects, system maintenance, and workflow improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s control framework.

People Management:

  • Manage a team of 6, ensuring timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with other finance department managers to meet overall objectives.
  • Advise staff on non-routine transactions and provide training as needed.
  • Handle personnel issues (conflicts, absenteeism, performance).
  • Establish and monitor team goals and objectives, coordinating daily operations at the Luxembourg office.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least 5 years of experience, including management.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and exposure to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP S/4HANA is a plus).
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 20%).
